Marine Biologist

Synopsis

We are looking for a passionate and research-driven Marine Biologist to study marine organisms, ecosystems, and ocean environments. You will conduct field research, analyse marine data, and contribute to conservation, environmental monitoring, and sustainable management of marine resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field research and surveys of marine ecosystems and species
  • Collect, analyse, and interpret biological and environmental data
  • Monitor marine habitats, biodiversity, and ecosystem health
  • Study marine organisms and their behaviour, populations, and interactions
  • Prepare scientific reports, research papers, and presentations
  • Assist with conservation and environmental impact projects
  • Work with government agencies, research institutions, conservation organisations, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure research activities comply with environmental and safety regulations

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Marine Biology, Zoology, Environmental Science, Oceanography, or a related field
  • Master's degree is advantageous for research and specialist positions
  • Previous fieldwork or marine research experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of marine ecosystems, biology, and conservation principles
  • Experience with scientific data analysis and research software
  • Strong analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and in marine environments
  • Valid driver's licence and diving qualifications are advantageous
