Maintenance Supervisor – Manufacturing

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations within a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, leading maintenance teams, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate in a Technical or Maintenance-related field (NQF 5).
  • Trade Test qualification (NQF 5).
  • First Line Management Programme (FLMP) Certificate (NQF 5).
  • Minimum 5 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 1–2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Experience working shifts.

Advantageous

  • Diploma in a Technical or Maintenance-related field (NQF 6).

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure maximum plant and equipment availability while minimising downtime.
  • Manage maintenance schedules, job cards, work permits, and shutdown activities.
  • Lead root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and company standards.
  • Supervise and develop maintenance team members.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, processes, and systems.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, SAP, ERP systems).
  • Leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Planning and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
