Maintenance Supervisor (Injection Moulding)
A Durban-based injection moulding plant is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance execution and drive equipment reliability across a high-volume production environment.
You will oversee breakdown response, planned maintenance, and contractor activity while ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

What you bring (Essential)
- Trade Test: Millwright or Electrician
- N4 Electrical / Electro-Mechanical qualification (minimum)
- Proven experience in injection moulding manufacturing environments
- Strong hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and VSDs
- Minimum 5 years post-trade maintenance experience
- At least 3 years’ supervisory or team leader experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems
- Experience working in high-volume production environments
- Strong MS Excel and reporting ability
- Exposure to CMMS systems (SAP or similar) advantageous
- FMCG, packaging, or plastics manufacturing experience
- Strong breakdown leadership experience in fast-paced environments
- Proven ability to drive root cause analysis (RCA) and downtime reduction
- Hands-on “lead from the front” supervisory style
What you will be doing
- Leading daily maintenance activities in a production environment
- Responding to breakdowns and restoring equipment to production quickly
- Driving planned maintenance execution and adherence to schedules
- Improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
- Supervising maintenance staff and contractors on site
- Supporting injection moulding machine performance and uptime
- Ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures
- Working closely with production teams to minimise disruptions
- Fault-finding across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Supporting spare parts control and maintenance planning activities
- Interpreting technical drawings and assisting with equipment troubleshooting
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives (RCA, Kaizen, downtime reduction)
