Maintenance Electrician - Manufacturing

Role Overview

Work as a qualified Maintenance Electrician in a Cape Town manufacturing environment. The role suits an artisan who can identify problems before they become failures, take ownership of maintenance activities and help keep production running efficiently and safely.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance on production equipment.
• Carry out PLC fault finding and respond to breakdowns.
• Complete preventative, predictive and planned maintenance.
• Support machine upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain site and facility equipment.
• Maintain high health and safety standards.
• Support shutdowns and critical maintenance activities.

The role requires an understanding of how production works, how downtime affects the business and how proactive maintenance creates value. Root-cause investigation and technically sound decisions are important.

Requirements

• Qualified, Trade Tested Electrician.
• Minimum NTC or N3 qualification.
• Five to seven years' maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong fault-finding ability on electrical and mechanical systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Forklift licence is advantageous.
• Ability to work shifts, overtime and call-outs when required.
