Loss Prevention Officer

Our client is seeking a Loss Prevention Officer to reduce shrink and strengthen store safety routines. This role is ideal for someone observant, disciplined, and comfortable enforcing policy fairly. You will support incident reporting, access control, and routine compliance checks across the store. The environment requires calm professionalism and strong communication with staff and customers. You will work with management to identify risk areas and implement practical prevention steps. If you value integrity and enjoy protective, process-driven work, this role will suit you.

  • Monitor store activity, identify suspicious behaviour, and act in line with company procedures.
  • Conduct bag checks, access control routines, and compliance spot checks.
  • Support investigations by compiling statements, footage logs, and incident reports.
  • Partner with store management on shrink reduction action plans and training.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and escalate hazards immediately.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, recoveries, and interventions.
  • Liaise with external security partners where required.


  • Matric essential.
  • 2–5 years loss prevention/security experience, ideally in retail.
  • Strong communication and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends.
  • Clear criminal record required.
