Logistics Coordinator

Do you have 2–3 years' experience in international imports and enjoy a hands-on role within a dynamic logistics team?
 
Our client, a well-established company based in the Southern Suburbs, is looking for a proactive Logistics Coordinator to oversee the efficient movement of local and international shipments while ensuring accurate stock control and seamless supply chain administration.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised professional with strong commercial acumen and a passion for logistics.
You'll play a key role in optimising supply chain processes, supporting operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional service as part of a collaborative and fast-paced team.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Grade 12 qualification supported by at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • A qualification in International Freight Management/ Transport Economics or Supply Chain Management would be advantageous
  • Good understanding of international import supply chain management
  • Knowledge of domestic warehousing and courier operations
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Good numerical skills
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen
  • Working knowledge of CRM and ERP system - MS Business Central would be an added advantage
  • Good written and spoken skills in English
  • High degree of professionalism.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365
 
 
DUTIES
  • Coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound local and international shipments.
  • Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, couriers, customs agents, and warehouse partners to ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Track shipments, customs clearance, and delivery schedules, resolving delays or transport issues as required.
  • Manage inventory by receiving, inspecting, labelling, and capturing stock on the ERP system.
  • Conduct stock inspections, identify discrepancies, and coordinate quality-related issues with suppliers.
  • Oversee stock control, monthly stock takes, and the general organisation and maintenance of the stores.
  • Prepare picking slips, packing documentation, waybills, and support domestic order distribution.
  • Maintain accurate supply chain records, reports, and logistics documentation.
  • Analyse freight costs, monitor shipping performance, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Coordinate supplier performance, monitor service level agreements (SLAs), and support supplier negotiations.
  • Assist with procurement planning, stores consumables, and production/shipping schedules to meet operational deadlines.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners while ensuring professional communication at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure responsive communication across all supply chain functions.
 
 
Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
