Are you a seasoned Litigation Secretary who can manage complex litigation administration while delivering impeccable accuracy and efficiency?
A respected and well-established legal practice in the Cape Town CBD focuses on debt collection and insolvency matters. This role works closely with the Head of the Litigation Department and requires strong dictaphone typing skills, the confidence to work independently in a fast-paced legal environment and someone who is meticulous and proactive.

Requirements
- Matric, relevant legal qualification advantageous
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Litigation Secretary
- Excellent dictaphone typing skills (100+ wpm)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload
- Highly organised with strong administrative skills
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Litigation
- Managing litigation matters relating to debt collection and insolvency
- Preparing, formatting, transcribing and proofreading legal documentation
- Dictaphone typing of attorneys’ audio files and written instructions
- Coordinating court documentation and assisting with court-related administration
- Maintaining and updating matter files, indexes, and legal records
- Conducting case-related research and assisting with legal documentation preparation
- Managing diaries, scheduling appointments and arranging travel when required
- Liaising with attorneys, counsel, clients, experts and service providers
- Ensuring all administrative processes run efficiently within the department
