Role Overview

Introduction
An employer in Kathu who is looking for Wheel loader operators, specificallly KOMATSU WA800, for a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

Core Operation and Production
Truck Loading: Position and operate the loader to efficiently fill 60 to 100-ton rigid-frame haul trucks or feed processing plants and hoppers.
Material Handling: Execute digging, reclaiming, stock-piling, and rehandling activities using automated features like automatic digging and semi-automatic approach/dumping.
Site Management: Maintain stable stockpiles, clean floor conditions, proper bench/wall edges, and correct right-of-way positioning to optimize cycle times.
Pre- and Post-Op Inspections: Conduct thorough walk-around checks, test systems using machine inspection checklists, and immediately report mechanical defects or abnormalities.
Area Awareness: Utilize advanced monitoring systems like Komatsu KomVision radar and camera feeds to detect personnel or obstacles in high-risk zones.
Safety Protocols: Comply with all mine health, safety, and environmental standards, participating in safety talks, risk assessments, and shift handovers.
Minor Upkeep: Assist maintenance crews during servicing or shutdown periods, avoiding machine abuse and minimizing excessive idling.
Cab Cleanliness: Perform routine housekeeping inside and outside the operator cabin to ensure controls and windows remain clear and safe

Requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Requirements:
Grade 12
Valid and recognised Heavy Earthmoving Equipment/ Wheel loader certificate
Proven track record operating Komatsu WA800 Equipment
Minimum 5 years experience
Previous experience working in mining, ssand mining, quarrying, earthmoving or heavy duty industrial environment.
Valid drivers license
Valid medical fitness certificate
No criminal record.
Ability to pass all site-specific competancy and/or practical assesment
Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, standby and PPH when required
Preferance will be given to candidates residing in the Tsantsabane Municipality Area.

Mining Equipment Experience.
KOMATSU WA800 WHEEL LOADER
Large capacity Front End Loaders
Loading and stockpiling operations
Sand, aggregate and bulk material handling
Loading dump trucks and/or haulage equipment
Feeding crushers, screens or processing plants
Working around conveyers, hoppers, stockpiles and processing areas
Operating heavy mobile equipment in confined and high-risk mining area.
Hobbies such as driving games will be advantageous.
