Junior Professional Accountant, Remote – Western Cape

Have you recently completed your professional accounting articles (SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA or similar) and are looking for an opportunity to grow your accounting expertise, working remotely?
 
Our client is a well-established Accounting and Tax Firm in the Western Cape, and their team is growing. This role is responsible for the full accounting function for an international client, while providing support to other clients as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Dependable Wi-Fi network and back-up power in case of electricity outages
• Completed SAIPA articles or equivalent professional articles (SAICA, CIMA or similar)
• Relevant Accounting qualification
• Sound understanding of accounting principles, tax legislation and financial reporting
• Experience preparing annual financial statements, management accounts and tax returns
• Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero, CaseWare, QuickBooks or similar
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Professional, organised and able to work independently and as part of a team

DUTIES

• Prepare annual financial statements and management accounts
• Complete tax returns for individuals, companies and trusts
• Perform VAT, PAYE and other statutory submissions
• Assist with monthly accounting and bookkeeping functions
• Liaise with clients and provide professional accounting and tax support
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and reporting deadlines
• Complete timesheets to allocate work hours to clients

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
