Junior Mechanical Engineer - Pumps and Fire Systems

Role Overview

A specialist in submersible pumps and fire-protection equipment is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer who wants to build a practical foundation and develop a long-term career in a specialised technical environment. This is a hands-on role rather than a desk-only position, with exposure to pumps, electrical components, technical systems, and real-world applications.

Responsibilities

• Learn the equipment and operations from the ground up alongside experienced professionals.
• Develop technical and product knowledge through practical involvement with pumps, electrical components, and technical systems.
• Build toward a technical-sales role that combines engineering knowledge with customer interaction and solution-based selling.
• Apply problem-solving and a practical mindset while adapting to a specialised environment.
• Complete product and technical training and gain exposure to mechanical and electrical applications.
• Work toward a long-term development path within an established technical environment.

Requirements

• Completed Mechanical Engineering qualification, SETA or trade qualification, or diploma; a degree is not essential.
• Good electrical foundation and practical understanding of electrical principles.
• Hands-on, technically involved, curious, and eager to learn.
• CAD knowledge is advantageous.
• Positive, adaptable attitude with strong problem-solving ability.
• Open to being trained in the company's products and systems and ideally within reasonable travelling distance of Tunney.
