Junior Legal & Risk Counsel

Role Overview

Support the Head of Legal and Risk across a diverse range of commercial, legal, risk and insurance matters within a logistics and freight-management group.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements.
• Conduct legal research and provide advice across commercial, maritime, environmental, labour and regulatory legislation.
• Support risk management, insurance and claims matters, including marine liability.
• Support acquisitions, projects and business development with legal due diligence.
• Assist with corporate governance, compliance and internal policies.
• Liaise with external attorneys, brokers and key business stakeholders.
• Prepare legal memoranda, reports and management documentation.

Requirements

• LLB degree is essential.
• Completed articles or relevant experience in a corporate, commercial legal, risk or compliance environment.
• Strong contract-drafting and interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Professional, commercially minded and eager to learn.
