Junior-Intermediate AI Project Manager

Introduction

Support an AI Programme Lead in Cape Town by coordinating, tracking, governing, and scaling AI initiatives across a Technology Group. The role provides programme visibility, stakeholder alignment, governance compliance, delivery tracking, and value-realisation reporting.

Programme Responsibilities

• Maintain integrated programme plans, track milestones, and follow up on actions, risks, and dependencies.
• Coordinate meetings, workshops, programme events, and workstream alignment.
• Prepare governance packs, meeting materials, weekly and monthly status reports, and executive reporting.
• Track AI Governance Board and SteerCo decisions, actions, and escalations.
• Maintain an inventory of AI use cases, delivery milestones, owners, and value metrics.
• Coordinate rollout activities, adoption metrics, implementation dashboards, and training participation.
• Liaise with Technology, HR, Architecture, Security, Data, and Business stakeholders.
• Draft programme communications and maintain documentation and knowledge repositories.

Experience & Skills

• Two to five years’ project or programme-management experience.
• Experience in Agile or SAFe environments and exposure to technology or digital projects.
• Strong organisation, reporting, dashboard-development, meeting-facilitation, stakeholder-management, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Basic understanding of AI and digital transformation.
• CSM, SAFe Practitioner, PRINCE2 Foundation, PMP Foundation, Microsoft Copilot, or AI certifications are advantageous.
