Junior Attorney - Pretoria East
Role Purpose
The Junior Attorney will be responsible for providing legal support across a range of matters, ensuring that all legal documentation, court processes, and client interactions are handled professionally and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The role is suited to a recently admitted attorney who is looking to gain practical experience and grow within a legal practice.
Key Responsibilities
Drafting, reviewing, and preparing a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and court papers.
Attending court proceedings, including appearances in relevant courts, and managing matters through the litigation process where required.
Consulting with clients to obtain instructions, provide legal advice, and maintain professional relationships.
Conducting legal research to support case preparation and ensure accurate application of the law.
Managing case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with legal standards.
Liaising with counsel, clients, and other stakeholders as required.
Assisting with general legal and administrative duties within the practice.
Ensuring deadlines are met and matters are handled efficiently and professionally.
Role Requirements
LLB Degree (essential).
Admitted Attorney (essential).
Strong drafting and legal writing skills.
Good understanding of court procedures and legal processes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters and work under pressure.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Professional, ethical, and client-focused approach.
