IT Technician

A well-established organisation within the industrial and manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced IT Technician to provide hands-on technical support, maintain IT infrastructure, and ensure the smooth operation of hardware, software, networks, and end-user systems.

This role is ideal for a technically strong, solutions-driven individual with experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, workstations, printers, and peripheral devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users across the business.
  • Manage Active Directory, including user setup, password resets, and permissions.
  • Assist with Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Conduct basic network troubleshooting involving switches, access points, VOIP devices, and connectivity issues.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, updates, diagnostics, and performance optimisation.
  • Monitor and maintain backups, ensuring business continuity processes are followed.
  • Maintain IT asset registers, inventory, and records of repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees and IT setup requirements.
  • Support IT projects and collaborate with the broader IT team.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT Technical Support / IT Technician role.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365.
  • Exposure to Active Directory user management.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ / Network+ advantageous.
  • Degree or studies in Computer Science / Information Technology preferred.
