Inventory Management Planner
A leading fashion retailer is seeking an experienced Inventory Management Planner to join their team in South Africa. This role is ideal for a commercially driven supply chain professional who is passionate about inventory optimisation, demand planning, and driving business performance through data-led decision-making.
Reporting to the Merchandise Planning & Inventory Lead, the Inventory Management Planner will be responsible for managing end-to-end inventory across Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Retail, Wholesale, and Omnichannel channels. The role focuses on ensuring optimal inventory availability, improving productivity, managing supply risks, and aligning inventory strategies with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end inventory management across multiple business channels.
• Develop and execute inventory strategies aligned to sales, financial, and customer service objectives.
• Drive inventory health, availability, inventory turns, and working capital optimisation.
• Manage demand and supply alignment with commercial and supply chain stakeholders.
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies for shortages, delays, and availability challenges.
• Partner with global supply, sourcing, logistics, retail, and commercial teams to optimise inventory flow.
• Support forecasting, S&OP, business reviews, and financial planning processes.
• Provide inventory insights, reporting, and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Develop strategies to reduce aged, excess, and obsolete inventory.
• Support markdown, clearance, and inventory productivity initiatives.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Commerce, Logistics, or related field.
• 5–7 years’ experience in inventory management, supply planning, or retail supply chain.
• Strong understanding of DTC, Retail, Wholesale, and Omnichannel business models.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
• Experience with SAP and inventory planning systems preferred.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with a data-driven approach.
