Internal Sales Consultant

About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Sales Consultant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting sales activities, managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations and costing, coordinating logistics, and maintaining strong client relationships to drive revenue growth.
This role is ideal for an individual with strong sales administration experience, excellent customer service skills, and exposure to construction-related products, costing, and CAD software.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle customer enquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
- Liaise with clients telephonically and via email.
- Manage quotations, costing, order processing, and sales administration.
- Coordinate activities relating to transport contractors, logistics, procurement, and customer deliveries.
- Track orders, warranties, deliveries, customer surveys, and prospecting activities.
- Conduct cold calling and follow up on sales opportunities.
- Maintain accurate sales reports, budget tracking, and workload reporting.
- Work closely with operational and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Assist with basic design requirements using CAD software.
- Ensure compliance with company SHEQ standards and procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- 3–5 years' experience in an Internal Sales, Sales Administration, or similar role.
- Experience with construction costing and quotations.
- Working knowledge of CAD software.
- Ability to interpret construction or technical drawings.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Good understanding of sales administration processes.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Technically minded with strong problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated and target-driven.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Experience
- Experience within the construction, modular building, manufacturing, or related industries.
- Experience coordinating logistics, transport, and procurement activities.
