Internal Sales Consultant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Internal Sales Consultant to support sales operations, drive revenue growth, and deliver exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, coordinating with internal departments, and supporting the full sales administration process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle customer enquiries and provide professional support via telephone and email.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Manage sales administration activities including quotations, order processing, and customer communications.
  • Liaise with transport contractors, logistics providers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders regarding customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with production and operational teams to ensure customer expectations and delivery requirements are met.
  • Prepare costings and quotations based on customer specifications and project requirements.
  • Create and interpret basic CAD designs and drawings.
  • Track deliveries, warranties, budgets, customer surveys, and sales activities.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on daily workload, sales prospects, and customer interactions.
  • Conduct market research and support business development initiatives, including cold calling activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company SHEQ policies, procedures, and standards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).
  • Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel certification.
  • 3–5 years' experience in a similar internal sales or sales administration role.
  • Experience with construction costing.
  • Valid driver's licence and own vehicle advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with CAD software.
  • Understanding of construction drawings and costing principles.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Technically minded with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required.
