Interior Designer – Graduate

Are you a graduate interior designer with a passion for bespoke cabinetry and custom interiors?

Our client is seeking a motivated graduate interior designer to join their team in the Cape Town Southern Suburbs area. This role focuses on the design of bespoke joinery solutions, including material selection, with each project tailored to the individual needs of the client. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential, while experience with SketchUp for 3D modelling and rendering will be advantageous.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with SketchUp or Revit will be advantageous
  • Strong design flair with excellent spatial planning abilities
  • Genuine interest in bespoke cabinetry, joinery, and interior design
  • Basic knowledge of estimating and administrative processes is beneficial
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, client-centric approach with strong presentation skills
  • Sound understanding of joinery materials and general building industry practices
DUTIES
  • Meet with clients to understand their design requirements and communicate project briefs with management
  • Provide recommendations on materials, finishes, and design solutions for bespoke, high-end projects
  • Develop creative concepts and transform client ideas into practical design solutions
  • Produce detailed drawings and 3D visualisations using AutoCAD and relevant rendering software
  • Prepare accurate drawings, specifications, and material selections with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant building regulations and industry standards
  • Coordinate projects from concept through to completion, maintaining effective communication with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Assist with project budgeting, cost estimates, scheduling, and resource planning
  • Identify design challenges and implement practical, effective solutions
  • Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and installation teams to ensure successful project delivery
