Role Overview

The Incubation Foreman is responsible for managing the daily incubation process from egg setting through transfer and hatch, maintaining operational standards, supervising staff, and ensuring production targets and hatchery biosecurity requirements are met.

Responsibilities

Manage and monitor incubation from egg setting through transfer and hatch.
Operate incubators within prescribed temperature, humidity, ventilation, and operational parameters.
Conduct routine incubator checks and escalate mechanical or technical issues to Maintenance.
Follow egg-setting patterns and production schedules and ensure correct shift handovers.
Monitor flock, egg, and incubation performance and investigate deviations.
Complete incubation records, check sheets, and production reports.
Supervise, allocate, train, and coach Incubation Operators and General Workers.
Ensure staffing levels, daily and weekly production targets, fertility, hatchability, and chick quality are monitored.
Maintain strict hygiene, hatchery biosecurity, SOP compliance, corrective action, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Experience in incubation, hatchery operations, poultry production, or a related agricultural environment.
Ability to monitor production KPIs, maintain accurate records, and implement corrective action.
Supervisory, training, handover, reporting, and staff-allocation capability.
Commitment to strict hygiene, biosecurity, standard operating procedures, and safe working practices.
Ability to identify production trends and support improved production efficiency.
