ICT Data and Information Architect
Role Overview
The ICT Data and Information Architect (Azure) will report to the Senior Manager: Data Warehouse Analytics and BI and form part of the ICT Division at the GEMS Head Office. The total remuneration package is R1,456,304 CTC per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide database-architecture leadership and mentor projects.
- Design end-to-end architecture at detailed level and advise on Azure technical issues.
- Maintain the database-architecture governance model through training and design and code reviews.
- Migrate on-premise databases to Azure data stores.
- Develop database architecture and roadmaps.
- Improve performance, stability, and interoperability of existing data designs.
- Develop ETL processes for disparate data sources.
- Compile Statement of Architecture Work.
- Deliver data analysis and architecture covering collection, migration, metadata, interfaces, dashboards, and reporting.
- Ensure enterprise requirements, standards, traceability, and alignment with target architecture.
- Drive and evaluate Requests for Information and Proposals.
- Re-engineer databases and report changes to business requirements and data architecture.
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in BCom Informatics, BSc Computer Science, BSc Engineering Information Technology, or similar.
- TOGAF 9.1 or relevant industry-specific qualification.
- Five or more years' functional experience in requirements analysis, design, data, solution, or enterprise architecture, including at least three years at managerial or lead level.
- Experience with large business-critical datasets and multidimensional and tabular models.
- Azure data and analytics services, SQL Server and NoSQL databases, Excel, Power BI, SSIS, and PowerShell experience.
- Experience with large-scale transformation and migration, MDM, data quality, and source control.
- Strong documentation, communication, stakeholder, teamwork, and leadership skills.
