HR Manager

Our client is a property development organisation seeking an experienced HR Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and implementing end-to-end Human Resources strategies, policies, and operational HR functions within a fast-paced property development environment,
including employee relations, payroll oversight, compliance, and organisational development.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification advantageous
  • 5–7 years’ experience as an HR Manager with a strong HR Generalist background
  • Experience within property development, construction, engineering, or similar project-based environments advantageous
  • Proven experience in drafting HR policies and procedures
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and associated tax implications
  • Experience with CCMA processes and labour relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at a professional level
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across operational and site-based teams
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in preparing and delivering presentations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organisational and project-based goals
  • Maintain organisational structure by updating job profiles, KPIs, and job descriptions across office and site teams
  • Manage full recruitment and selection processes across head office and project sites, advising managers on candidate selection
  • Oversee employee relations, including disciplinary processes, grievances, and conflict resolution in both office and site environments
  • Conduct and analyse exit interviews and recommend improvements to retention and engagement strategies
  • Support performance management processes, including KPI setting and workforce planning aligned to project timelines
  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable labour legislation and HR regulations
  • Oversee payroll sign-off to ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements
  • Conduct salary benchmarking and support incentive programmes suitable for construction/project environments
  • Partner with external training providers to implement learning and development initiatives aligned to skills development needs
  • Support leadership with quarterly management meetings and HR reporting
  • Drive organisational development and workforce planning aligned with growth in property development projects
