A well-established company in the scrap metal and recycling industry is seeking a proactive and hands-on Health & Safety Officer to join its operations team. This role is suited to an individual who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and is passionate about maintaining safe working practices across busy production and recycling sites.

Key Responsibilities

Implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company standards
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
Investigate workplace incidents and compile detailed reports
Facilitate safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness initiatives
Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation
Support the implementation of digital and AI-enabled safety systems
Promote a strong safety culture across operational teams

Minimum Requirements

NOSA certification or equivalent health and safety qualification
Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation
Must be fluent in Afrikaans and English
Previous experience in manufacturing, recycling, engineering, scrap metal, or industrial environments preferred
Strong reporting, administration, and communication skills
Basic computer literacy and willingness to work with digital systems
Practical, reliable, and self-managed approach to work
Comfortable working in demanding industrial and production environments
