Head of Engineering and Manufacturing Support
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Engineering Executive / Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering, Maintenance, and Toolroom functions within a high-performance manufacturing environment.
This is a senior engineering leadership opportunity suited to a technically strong, hands-on leader with extensive experience in discrete manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will combine engineering governance, manufacturing engineering expertise, maintenance and reliability leadership, and factory-floor operational support capability.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Engineering, Maintenance, and Toolroom functions
- Drive engineering governance, technical standards, and reliability systems
- Support manufacturing operations through strong engineering leadership
- Oversee asset care, maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage CAPEX projects and engineering improvement programmes
- Ensure effective manufacturing support engineering and technical problem-solving
- Lead and develop engineering managers, maintenance teams, and technical staff
- Maintain strong integration between product engineering, manufacturing processes, tooling, and production support
- Drive operational uptime, engineering efficiency, and technical compliance
- BEng or BTech in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 10–15 years’ manufacturing experience within discrete manufacturing environments
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering leadership role
- Proven leadership of engineering managers, maintenance managers, and multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong understanding of:
- Manufacturing engineering
- Reliability and maintenance systems
- Engineering governance
- BOM management
- CAPEX execution
- Production support engineering
- Experience within one or more of the following environments:
- Automotive manufacturing
- Defence manufacturing
- Precision engineering
- Heavy fabrication
- Industrial equipment manufacturing
- Engineered products manufacturing
- Strong factory-floor presence and practical leadership capability
- Ability to operate effectively in high-accountability manufacturing environments
- GCC qualification
- SAP exposure
- Experience within globally competitive manufacturing environments
The ideal candidate will have exposure to:
- Machining and CNC environments
- Toolroom operations
- Assembly manufacturing
- Precision or high-volume manufacturing
- Fabrication and engineered product environments

- Pure operations or plant management
- FMCG/process manufacturing-only environments
- Utilities or facilities engineering
- Project management without manufacturing leadership depth
