REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years' professional graphic design experience, with significant agency experience
- Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing creative teams
- Strong portfolio demonstrating branding, campaign development, digital marketing assets, and creative direction
- Experience working across industries such as beauty, skincare, healthcare, consumer products, B2B, and professional services
- Extensive experience producing digital-first creative including social media, websites, email marketing, paid media, presentations, retail signage, and product content
- Excellent understanding of typography, composition, visual hierarchy, branding, and design systems
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and presentation software
- Experience presenting creative concepts and managing client relationships
- Self-motivated with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Passion for innovation, creative excellence, and continuous improvement
- Must be based in Cape Town and willing to work full-time in-office.
DUTIES
- Lead and oversee all creative output across digital, print, social media, web, email marketing, presentations, retail, and campaign assets
- Provide hands-on creative direction while actively contributing to high-quality design work
- Establish and maintain exceptional creative standards across typography, layout, branding, and visual consistency
- Develop and evolve brand systems and campaign creative for a diverse portfolio of international clients
- Manage, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Junior Art Directors, Art Directors, and Senior Designers
- Recruit, onboard, and build a high-performing creative department as the agency continues to grow
- Implement creative review processes, quality assurance standards, and ongoing team development initiatives
- Expand the studio's capabilities across video production, motion graphics, animation, and post-production
- Lead the agency's AI creative function by integrating AI tools into creative production workflows and guiding AI-generated creative output
- Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and creative innovation
- Collaborate with clients to present concepts, gather feedback, and build long-term relationships
- Work closely with marketing, development, and operations teams to ensure creative projects align with strategic objectives and are delivered on time
- Contribute to business development by strengthening the agency's creative portfolio and supporting new client opportunities
- Optimise creative workflows, file management systems, templates, and asset libraries.
- Support executive leadership and contribute to strategic decision-making, company culture, and operational excellence
- Act as a senior leader within the business, providing guidance and leadership in the Founder's absence
