An established insurance environment is looking to appoint a seasoned HCV Underwriter to join their Durbanville-based team.

The role focuses on the accurate underwriting of Heavy Commercial Vehicle risks while maintaining underwriting discipline and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Underwrite Heavy Commercial Vehicle risks according to underwriting guidelines
Handle new business, renewals, endorsements, and policy amendments
Assess risk exposure and claims history to determine appropriate cover and pricing
Provide technical underwriting support to brokers and internal teams
Ensure compliance with FAIS and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate policy records and underwriting documentation
Support portfolio performance and risk management objectives

Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
7+ years’ experience as an HCV Underwriter
Proven short-term insurance underwriting experience
Fluent in Afrikaans and English
Strong attention to detail and risk assessment skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
