HCV Broker Consultant

Role Overview

If you have a strong heavy commercial vehicle and trucking background, current broker-consulting or face-to-face business-development experience, and would like to work for an insurer calling on a panel of brokers, this opportunity is suited to you.

The purpose of the role is to call on a panel of brokers and grow and manage an HCV and trucking portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Call on a panel of brokers and develop and manage an HCV and trucking insurance portfolio.
• Build and maintain broker relationships through face-to-face business-development activity.
• Use commercial-lines and HCV insurance knowledge to identify opportunities and support portfolio growth.
• Promote insurance products and provide clear information on product terms and requirements.
• Maintain strong customer and broker engagement and contribute to sales and business-development objectives.
• Travel as required to meet brokers and develop the portfolio.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or Matric.
• Regulatory Examination RE5 or RE1 completed.
• Full short-term insurance qualification at NQF Level 4 or 5, with at least 120 credits and FAIS compliance.
• At least five years of HCV or trucking insurance broker-consulting or face-to-face business-development experience.
• Strong commercial-lines and HCV insurance knowledge.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Valid South African driver's licence, willingness to travel and excellent communication, presentation and people skills.
• Passion for sales, business development and relationship management.
