Hazchem Code 10 Driver

Our client based in Randburg is looking for a Hazchem Code 10 Truck Driver, to operate medium-heavy vehicles (Code 10 license) and transport hazardous chemicals/materials safely in compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate a Code 10 vehicle for delivery and collection of hazardous materials
• Transport chemicals in accordance with Hazchem and safety regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure correct loading, securing, and offloading of hazardous goods
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logbooks
• Follow designated routes and delivery schedules
• Handle emergency situations (spills, accidents) according to Hazchem procedures
• Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Report vehicle faults, incidents, or delays promptly
• Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Code 10 driver’s license (C1)
• Valid DGP (Dangerous Goods Permit)
• Hazchem certification (dangerous goods handling)
• Minimum 2–3 years driving experience, preferably with hazardous materials
• Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations
• Ability to read and understand safety documentation (e.g., MSDS)

Working Conditions:

• Long-distance or local deliveries
• Exposure to hazardous substances
• May require overtime, weekends, or shift work
