Hair Academy Trainer / Lecturer

Role Overview

Deliver practical and theoretical training at a new hair academy in Pretoria, focusing on wig installation, wig construction and styling, braiding, hairpieces and protective hair techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical training to academy students.
• Teach wig preparation, fitting, installation, styling, maintenance and basic customisation.
• Train students in braiding techniques, patterns and protective hairstyles.
• Teach hairpiece installation, extension application, blending and maintenance.
• Demonstrate tools, equipment and techniques step by step.
• Assess practical work and provide constructive feedback.
• Develop exercises, demonstrations and training materials.
• Monitor student progress and provide additional support.
• Maintain a professional, clean and safe learning environment.
• Keep current with wig, braid and hairpiece techniques and ensure students can work independently.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience in wig installation, braiding, hairpieces or related techniques.
• Strong practical knowledge of wigs and protective hairstyles.
• Ability to demonstrate techniques clearly and professionally.
• Communication, interpersonal, mentoring and student-development skills.
• Previous hair-trainer, lecturer, facilitator or instructor experience.
• Formal qualification in hair, beauty or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience developing training materials or practical assessments and a portfolio of relevant work.
