Programme Overview

GIBB is offering an Electrical Engineering placement through the Youth Employment Service programme in Johannesburg. The 12-month fixed-term opportunity is intended to help young South Africans gain workplace experience and develop relevant engineering skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics, Science, and English.
• BSc Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• South African citizen, born in South Africa, aged between 18 and 35.
• Unemployed and available for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Not a previous YES beneficiary.
• PC literate, responsible, honest, and eager to learn new skills related to the field.

Placement Information

• The programme supports youth skills development, meaningful workplace experience, and improved access to long-term employment.
• Successful candidates will be placed at the Johannesburg office.
• The placement forms part of GIBB’s transformation, empowerment, and industry-skills development focus within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
