Programme Overview

GIBB is offering a Civil Engineering student placement through the Youth Employment Service programme in Johannesburg. The opportunity is within the GIBB POWER delivery unit and provides a pathway to workplace experience on impactful engineering projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics, Science, and English.
• BSc or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• PC literate, responsible, honest, and eager to develop skills in the relevant field.
• South African citizen, born in South Africa, aged between 18 and 35.
• Unemployed and available for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
• Not a previous YES beneficiary.

Placement Information

• The programme is a business-led collaboration supporting youth skills development and meaningful workplace experience.
• Successful candidates will be placed at GIBB’s Johannesburg offices.
• The placement supports transformation, empowerment, and development within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
