General Warehouse Assistant

An opportunity is available for a Warehouse Assistant (General) to perform a variety of general duties within a fast-paced Distribution Centre. The role focuses on ensuring the accurate handling, movement, and processing of stock in line with operational standards.

Job Title: Warehouse Assistant (General)
Location: Distribution Centre
Rate: R30.52 p/h

Key Responsibilities

Receiving (Packed Cartons)

• Load and offload full cartons as instructed
• Ensure cartons are loaded according to order and size specifications
• Adhere to packing standards at all times
• Move pallets to designated locations as required
• Maintain high levels of accuracy
• Keep work areas clean and organised

Distribution Lines (Picking Support)

• Prepare empty cartons for picking lines
• Ensure picking lines remain operational until completion
• Cut, staple, and seal cartons according to specifications
• Check cartons for damage before leaving the picking line
• Handle equipment according to required standards
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas

Despatch (Sealed and Allocated Cartons)

• Verify carton ID labels against SCS labels for accuracy
• Seal cartons according to required standards
• Move cartons between locations as instructed
• Maintain clean and safe working areas

Minimum Requirements

Education:

• Grade 10 preferred

Experience:

• No prior experience required

• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Team player with a positive attitude
• Service-oriented mindset

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work long hours without loss of effectiveness
• Good eyesight to accurately read SKUs
• Physically fit and able to lift cartons up to 25kg
