An established food distribution company is seeking an all-round Shop Assistant / Cashier to support daily shop operations. The successful candidate will assist with merchandising, customer service, sales, cashier duties, and maintaining a clean and professional retail environment.

Good written and verbal communication skills
Honest, reliable, and trustworthy
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems
Ability to work well under pressure
Good time management skills
Willing to work Saturdays and public holidays when required

Key Responsibilities

Merchandise products while adhering to food safety standards
Assist customers professionally and handle queries or complaints effectively
Follow and maintain health and safety regulations
Participate in monthly and ad-hoc stock takes
Provide support across all shop departments when needed
Perform cashier duties, including processing cash and card payments and cashing up
Complete weekly customer calling sheets
Assist with sourcing new customers to increase sales and stock turnover

Qualifications & Skills

Matric certificate
SAP experience advantageous
CISTECH experience advantageous

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years’ FMCG experience
Previous cashier experience essential
Seafood industry knowledge advantageous
