Foods Department Manager - Centurion

Introduction

A leading South African retail company is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Foods Department Manager to join their store operations team in Centurion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Foods Department, including achieving sales targets, managing stock performance, maintaining operational standards and leading a high-performing team.

This position requires a hands-on leader with strong Foods retail experience, excellent organisational skills and the ability to deliver outstanding customer experiences while driving departmental profitability.

Description

• Achieve departmental sales targets and manage performance against budget.
• Deliver excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Manage, motivate and develop the Foods Department team.
• Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding and talent development.
• Maintain accurate completion of daily operational processes.
• Monitor stock availability, replenishment and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with store operational standards.
• Execute promotions and special events to maximise sales opportunities.
• Identify opportunities to improve departmental performance.
• Manage shrinkage and implement controls to reduce losses.
• Support store objectives through effective collaboration with other departments.
• Participate in store operational activities and improvement initiatives.

Education Profile

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF qualification.
• 3 years management experience in FMCG retail
• Foods Department experience required.
• Strong understanding of stock management and retail operations.
• Computer literacy required.
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle essential.
• Must reside in Centurion.
