Food Technologist
Our client based in Cato Ridge is looking for a Food Technologist to join their team as a Food Technologist
The Individual will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products, as well as developing and implementing new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity

The Individual will be responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products, as well as developing and implementing new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Must have 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar or related environment within the business.
- Know-How, Technical Skills and Experience (n. of years and where)
- 2 – 3 years HACCP Understanding and implementation according to SANS 10330:2020
- Basic understanding Veterinary and Act 36 requirements.
- Basic laboratory experience or techniques
- Syspro – Basic understanding is an advantage and operating a must to learn on the job.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Understanding of Manufacturing processes
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMP)
- Oversee quality control processes and product testing.
- Conduct internal and external audits, inspections, and PPE checks.
- Review production records and supplier quality compliance.
- Identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
- Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Provide training and support to production staff on food safety systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, Maintenance)
