Flow- Wrap Machine Operator
We are currently looking for a Flow Wrap Machine Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain the flow-wrap packaging machine, ensuring that noodle products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company quality standards.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Packaging or production-related training will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience operating flow wrap, packaging, or food processing machinery.
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with noodle, pasta, or FMCG production will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of packaging machinery and production processes.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read production schedules and packaging specifications.
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic numerical and record-keeping skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor the flow wrap machine during production runs.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure correct package size, sealing, coding, and wrapping quality.
- Load packaging materials and replenish consumables as required.
- Conduct machine start-up and shutdown procedures according to company standards.
- Inspect finished products to ensure packaging meets quality specifications.
- Monitor seal integrity, product weight, date coding, and packaging appearance.
- Remove defective products and report quality issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Perform routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
- Identify and resolve minor machine faults and jams.
- Report major breakdowns and maintenance requirements to the maintenance department.
- Keep machinery clean and in good working condition.
- Complete production records, downtime reports, and packaging documentation accurately.
- Record packaging quantities, rejects, and machine performance data.
- Assist in achieving daily production targets and reducing wastage.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, GMP, and food manufacturing standards.
- Wear the required PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
