A leading private school group is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Johannesburg.

This role will support the Financial Manager in ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, compliance, and asset safeguarding across multiple educational institutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial and management accounting, month-end reporting, reconciliations, payroll oversight, audit support, and driving process improvements across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-end reporting and journal preparation
Balance sheet and VAT reconciliations
Financial statement review and variance analysis
Group reporting and consolidation packs
Audit and tax review support
Source-to-pay process coordination and control
Payroll controls and process standardization
Continuous improvement of financial processes and controls

Minimum Requirements:

BCom or BCom (Hons) Degree
Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles
3+ years corporate finance experience post articles (not audit, tax, or accounting advisory firms)
Strong financial reporting, reconciliations, and control environment experience
