FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
STELLENBOSCH – WESTERN CAPE

Are you a numbers-driven Financial Accountant who does more than simply report the figures?

We’re looking for a commercially minded finance professional who can combine strong financial accounting, cost analysis, reporting and systems expertise to help management understand the numbers — and use them to make better business decisions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who enjoys getting into the detail, analysing profitability, improving processes and maintaining rock-solid financial controls.

Maintaining the General Ledger and accurate reconciliations
Processing and reviewing journals, accruals and provisions
Managing bank, creditor and debtor reconciliations
Monitoring Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Assisting with budgets and financial forecasts
Analysing actual vs budget variances
Providing meaningful financial insights to management
Ensuring compliance with VAT, PAYE and Income Tax
Assisting with audits and liaising with external auditors
Maintaining and improving internal financial controls
Performing effective cost accounting
Analysing scenarios to identify opportunities to improve profitability
Supporting and improving accounting, operational and warehousing systems

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Essential:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Minimum 5 years’ relevant Financial Accounting experience
CIMA or SAICA qualification
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
Understanding of IFRS for SMEs

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

Pivot Tables
Advanced functions
Automated integration
Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines

HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS
Experience within a manufacturing and/or agricultural environment will be a definite advantage, particularly if you have exposure to:

Cost Accounting
Inventory Accounting
Xero
Meshed ERP
Warehousing systems
