Finance Manager (Property/SAP Experience Essential) - Sandton
Role Purpose
The Finance Manager is responsible for enhancing finance as a strategic business partner across the organisation, including Business Units, Tenants, Property Asset Management, and External Clients.
The role focuses on overseeing financial operations within a property portfolio, influencing key business decisions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance. The incumbent will play a key role in driving financial performance, improving reporting systems, and delivering value-added insights to support strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management
Oversee all financial activities to ensure accuracy, compliance, and optimal performance.
- Prepare and review management accounts.
- Manage forecasts and provide regular updates.
- Compile financial reports including Finco, Exco, and Board packs.
- Oversee General Ledger management.
- Manage debtors on a weekly basis and creditors monthly.
- Oversee payroll processing.
- Provide audit support and detailed analytical explanations.
- Deliver management reports and financial insights.
- Ensure accurate statutory reporting including trial balance, VAT, and income tax.
- Manage income streams including management fees, recoveries, commissions, and sundry income.
- Oversee budgeting processes, variance analysis, and reporting on deviations.
System Development
Drive system improvements and automation to enhance financial efficiency.
- Automate reporting processes and management fee calculations.
- Collaborate with Senior Financial Manager and CFO on system improvements.
- Provide input on financial treatment of transactions within systems.
- Maintain SAP and Business Intelligence tools.
- Manage system structures and financial hierarchies.
Business Unit Profitability
Monitor and improve financial performance across business units.
- Review cost centre performance and financial results.
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs budget).
- Manage and update financial projections.
- Identify over- and under-spending trends proactively.
- Manage income statements and balance sheets for the region.
- Implement cost control measures.
Audit & Compliance
Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal controls.
- Address and resolve audit queries.
- Implement audit recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain monthly compliance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
