Field Technician - Electrical and Mechanical

Role Overview

A full-time, field-based Field Technician is required to assist with the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of cash deposit safes and related cash-management equipment at customer locations. Training and guidance will be provided while the technician develops practical field-service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, maintain, and repair cash deposit safes and related equipment.
  • Assist with diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and basic software-related faults.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine equipment inspections.
  • Attend customer sites to resolve service requests and technical faults.
  • Provide professional customer service and basic user guidance.
  • Complete accurate service reports and document work performed.
  • Follow health, safety, quality, and technical procedures.
  • Escalate complex technical or software issues.
  • Work with technical support and internal teams to resolve service requests.
  • Travel to customer locations and manage the field-service schedule.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or technical systems.
  • Basic troubleshooting and fault-finding ability.
  • Good practical, problem-solving, communication, and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to use basic hand and electrical tools.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to learn technical software.
  • Relevant technical qualification, trade training, N6, NQF qualification, or electronics, electrical, mechatronics, or mechanical certification is advantageous.
  • Previous field-service or technical experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable, roadworthy own vehicle are essential.
