Field Service Technician - Electric Materials Handling Equipment
Synopsis
An industrial materials-handling organisation is seeking a Field Service Technician to support electric materials-handling equipment at customer sites in the Durban area. The role requires practical technical ability, strong fault-finding skills and confidence working directly with customers while diagnosing and resolving equipment problems in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer sites to inspect electric materials-handling equipment.
- Perform technical fault finding on equipment experiencing operational problems.
- Identify electrical or mechanical causes of equipment failures.
- Carry out field-service work required to restore equipment operation.
- Communicate technical findings clearly to customers.
- Provide professional service while working in customer operating environments.
- Escalate complex technical problems where additional support is required.
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements
- Practical technical experience relevant to electric materials-handling equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability.
- Ability to work independently at customer sites.
- Good customer communication and professional service skills.
- Willingness to perform field-based technical work in the Durban area.
