Fashion Brand Manager - Wholesale

Introduction

Our client is seeking a Fashion Brand Manager - Wholesale to join their team in Durban. This role is positioned within a apparel, fashion, and textiles environment and is suited to a professional who can combine commercial awareness, operational discipline, and strong stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting product availability, supplier performance, stock flow, cost control, and overall business execution. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage product, range, sourcing, or production activities relevant to the role and department.
  • Monitor demand, stock levels, supplier performance, and delivery timelines to maintain continuity of supply.
  • Analyse trading performance, quality outcomes, production efficiency, or product sell-through and recommend actions.
  • Coordinate closely with design, merchandising, planning, quality, warehouse, and store teams as required.
  • Prepare accurate reports, trackers, and summaries for management review and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with brand standards, quality expectations, technical specifications, and internal procedures.
  • Support negotiations, cost reviews, margin improvement initiatives, and operational problem-solving where relevant.
  • Identify risks, delays, defects, or process gaps early and drive corrective action to completion.
  • Maintain accurate master data, supplier records, product information, and supporting documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen efficiency, consistency, and commercial performance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, Fashion, Textiles, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field depending on the role.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar function within a structured commercial, retail, sourcing, apparel, textile, or supply chain environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including reporting, analysis, reconciliation, or planning tasks relevant to the position.
  • Experience using ERP, procurement, merchandising, retail, or planning systems would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage suppliers, internal stakeholders, and operational teams professionally.
  • Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to interpret data, identify risks, and recommend practical actions.
  • A proactive, accountable work style with the ability to operate both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong understanding of product lifecycles, critical paths, sourcing, technical standards, garment construction, textiles, quality requirements, or seasonal planning depending on the role.
  • Exposure to apparel retail, fashion merchandising, product development, textile production, or supplier coordination would be highly beneficial.
  • Typically requires around 5–8 years relevant experience with strong ownership, problem-solving ability, and confidence working across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes, improve processes, and mentor junior team members will be advantageous.
