Are you a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Manager / Handyman with experience overseeing and managing the maintenance of both residential units and commercial properties?

Our client based in Wadeville requires a proactive individual who is comfortable performing physical maintenance tasks while also coordinating with external contractors when necessary.

The successful candidate will supervise two maintenance staff members and ensure all properties are maintained to a high standard.

REQUIREMENTS

Matric
Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport (essential)
Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman work
Strong practical skills in plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
Experience supervising or leading a small team is advantageous
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
Trustworthy, reliable, and dedicated
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Involves travel between sites
Requires physical labour and occasional work at heights

DUTIES

Conduct general maintenance and repairs across residential and commercial properties
Perform hands-on tasks including fixing cupboards, repairing taps, addressing leaks, and identifying water damage
Inspect roofs and carry out minor roof-related maintenance (must be comfortable working at heights)
Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day maintenance issues efficiently
Supervise and manage two maintenance team members
Coordinate and liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs or larger projects
Ensure all maintenance work is completed timeously and to a high standard
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records
Conduct routine inspections to proactively identify potential issues

Salary: R negotiable dependent on experience
