External Sales Representative - Packaging Consumables

Synopsis

A national supplier of FMCG and food-packaging consumables is looking for an experienced External Sales Representative to service customers across Durban. The role targets businesses operating in retail, butchery, hospitality, catering, food service, wholesale and FMCG environments and is suited to an established field salesperson who can contribute immediately.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage external sales activity across the assigned customer territory.
• Develop business within retail, butchery, hospitality, catering, food-service and FMCG markets.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities for additional business.
• Prospect for new customers within the target sectors.
• Present appropriate packaging and consumable solutions to prospective customers.
• Follow up consistently on sales opportunities and customer requirements.
• Work toward agreed sales and revenue objectives.
• Maintain professional field-sales standards across customer interactions.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

• Proven external sales experience is essential.
• Previous sales experience within packaging, FMCG, food service or wholesale is required.
• Experience selling packaging consumables is strongly relevant to the role.
• Demonstrable track record in field-based business development and customer management.
• Ability to work independently and manage an active sales territory.
