Role Overview

Lead the housekeeping operation of a high-standard hospitality environment in Mpumalanga, where cleanliness, guest experience, hygiene, and operational excellence are essential. The Executive Housekeeper will set the standard across the property while balancing people leadership, commercial awareness, and daily operational delivery.

Responsibilities

Lead the housekeeping function and establish clear performance standards.
Develop, review, and implement housekeeping SOPs, policies, and operational standards.
Ensure compliance with cleaning, hygiene, quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Plan and monitor operational and CAPEX budgets for housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry.
Oversee linen, equipment, laundry operations, contract requirements, and maintenance needs.
Recruit, train, schedule, evaluate, and develop housekeeping teams and Contract Managers.
Establish KPIs and monitor operational and financial performance.
Conduct inspections, prepare work plans and training schedules, and coordinate routine and ad hoc cleaning.
Respond effectively to guest and client feedback and improve cleaning methods, productivity, and service delivery.
Perform additional Head of Department responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, or a related field.
Matric or National Senior Certificate.
At least five years of relevant housekeeping experience at management level.
Strong experience leading hotel or comparable hospitality housekeeping teams.
Experience with SOPs, cleaning, laundry, budgets, CAPEX, KPIs, and performance management.
Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency; hotel-systems experience is advantageous.
Strong planning, organisation, analysis, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
HASA membership is advantageous.
