Synopsis

An organisation with operational activities in the Northern Cape is seeking an Environmental Officer to support compliance, monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. The position helps ensure that operational decisions reflect environmental commitments and applicable requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct environmental inspections and compliance monitoring.
Maintain environmental registers, records, and supporting evidence.
Assist with incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
Prepare routine environmental reports and management updates.
Support audits, permits, and regulatory submissions.
Engage with operational teams on environmental controls and awareness.
Monitor waste, water, rehabilitation, and site-management activities.

Qualifications / Minimum Requirements

Degree or diploma in environmental management, environmental science, or a related field.
Relevant experience in environmental compliance or monitoring.
Knowledge of South African environmental legislation and reporting practices.
Strong written communication and record-management skills.
Willingness to travel to operational sites.
