Environmental Monitoring and SHE Officer

Role Overview

Introduction
I have a client in Kathu looking for a SHE Officer with environmental background for a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities
Sample collection: Gather water, soil, or air samples from designated areas.
Data analysis: Track chain of custody, log field data, and review environmental indicators.
Pollution control: Oversee waste management, hazardous material storage, and spill prevention.
Impact assessment: Monitor ongoing operations against environmental management plans (EMPs) and local laws.

Safety and Health (SHE) Duties
Site inspections: Conduct daily safety walks, toolbox talks, and hazard checks.
Risk management: Perform risk assessments and enforce safe work permits (e.g., hot work, work at height).
Incident response: Investigate accidents, record near-misses, and close corrective actions.
Training and compliance: Educate workers on safety standards and ensure legal adherence to regulations like the OHS Act
Compliance reports: Write monthly or periodic health, safety, and environmental performance reports.
Record keeping: Maintain files for audits, training logs, and equipment inspections
Support waste and bioremediation compliance.

Requirements

Desired Experience & Qualification
Degree or Diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, OR Environmental Health.
Grade 12
Passport 360
SAMTRAC
COMSOC OR equivalent
Valid code B Drivers license.
Computer loterate and able to comply reports.
Medically Fit.
Attention to detail.
