Engineering Coordinator

Role Overview

We are looking for an Engineering Coordinator to lead an engineering maintenance team in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead an engineering maintenance team and ensure optimal machine uptime through proactive maintenance within specific lead times to improve production output.
• Ensure breakdowns are responded to within stipulated timeframes to minimise downtime and maximise plant productivity.
• Conduct root-cause analysis to determine the cause of breakdowns and prevent recurrence.
• Manage staff effectively and hold them accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures; develop and mentor staff through talent-management and IDP processes.
• Propose improvements and alterations to machinery and equipment to optimise quality and production volumes.
• Drive safety in the area of responsibility and ensure full compliance with safety procedures and policies.
• Monitor costs associated with contractors, energy, waste, material, maintenance, spares and reworks to ensure costs do not exceed budget parameters.
• Communicate relevant information to stakeholders to support effective business decision-making.

Requirements

• Affirmative Action South African citizen.
• National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5 years’ experience in a maintenance, engineering or process environment within manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience within a similar role.
• Knowledge of SCADA computer packages, electrical and thyristor drives, robotic systems, PLC, AC drives and servo systems, and ethernet network systems.
