Requirements:

  • Qualified Electrician with a Trade Test (Red Seal).
  • Valid Single Phase Wireman's Licence.
  • Minimum 5 years' hands-on electrical experience.
  • Experience with residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.
  • Strong fault-finding and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with Certificate of Compliance (COC) repairs and sign-offs.
  • Experience installing and maintaining DB boards, electrical wiring, lighting, plug circuits, and distribution systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical plans.
  • Valid South African Code B driver's licence.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
  • No criminal record.
Advantageous:
  • Three Phase Wireman's Licence.
  • Solar PV and inverter installation experience.
  • PV Green Card.
  • Knowledge of ECA regulations.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical installations, maintenance, servicing, and repairs on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Perform electrical fault finding, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
  • Install, repair, and maintain DB boards, wiring, lighting, plugs, and electrical distribution systems.
  • Complete Certificate of Compliance (COC) repairs and sign-offs.
  • Install and maintain solar PV systems and inverters.
  • Conduct routine electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
  • Complete accurate electronic job cards, including labour, materials used, site notes, and before-and-after photographs.
  • Collect materials from suppliers when required.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Conduct stock takes and assist with inventory control.
  • Attend daily team meetings and communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and ensure client sites are left clean and tidy.
  • Support other operational activities, including basic plumbing assistance where required.
