Electrician - Engineering Department

Role Overview

Join an engineering department in Milnerton as an Electrician. The role covers planned maintenance, installation, servicing and repair of existing and new equipment, with responsibility for electrical faults and breakdowns in the factory.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance.
• Install, service, repair and maintain existing and new equipment.
• Attend to electrical faults and breakdowns in the factory.
• Read and update electrical drawings.
• Maintain a tidy work environment and adhere to HACCP and BRC standards.
• Perform routine checks on temperature controllers, sensors and other equipment.
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols, including lockout and tagout procedures.
• Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.
• Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work, maintenance logs, inspection reports and equipment manuals.
• Perform standby duties and overtime when required.
• Perform shift work from time to time.

Qualifications and Experience

• Matric, N3 and Electrical Trade Test.
• At least five years' experience in the electrical field.
• Proficiency in PLC programming and fault finding, as well as SCADA and HMI programming.
• In-depth knowledge of DC and AC drives.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance practices.
• Computer literate.
• Willingness to go the extra mile.
• Team player.
