Electrical Artisan

Our client is looking for a qualified Electrical Artisan to maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems within a high-care juice manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will ensure optimal equipment performance, minimise downtime, and support production efficiency while maintaining strict safety and food manufacturing standards.


Qualification details
  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Recognised Electrical Trade Test
  • N3 Electrical Engineering or higher
Experience
  • 3–5 years post-trade experience in FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with production and packaging equipment.
  • Exposure to PLCs, VSDs, instrumentation, and automated systems.
  • High-care food manufacturing experience advantageous.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned, preventative, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production and packaging equipment.
  • Maintain motors, drives, PLC-controlled systems, instrumentation, sensors, and control panels.
  • Support fault finding on filling lines, conveyors, pumps, pasteurisers, mixers, and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with statutory and company safety requirements.
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and improvement projects.
  • Complete maintenance records, job cards, and reports accurately.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support after-hours breakdowns and standby requirements when necessary.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and adherence to GMP and food safety requirements.
